I have found that little boys thoroughly enjoy any and all sound effects and proceed to add them on to every single thing they do. Jeriah has sound effects for something so simple as closing an imaginary door. When we play together, what I do is not adequate unless I add a sound effect to illustrate further what I am doing. He doesn't care what the sound is, just as long as it happens.
During our sojourns together, Jeriah and I have sat in our living room and gone to the car wash, the store, the library, church, and today we even sang in the church choir complete with choir books (an Incredibles book and a butterfly book), a stage (the couch), and a pianist (Lukas sitting in Jeriah's little chair playing the toy piano). After we sang our first song, we sat down and said a prayer. Then we stood back up and sang again, and again.
His imagination is truly endless. I am constantly impressed that he can create anything from what he has around him. If there is no toy or other household item that fits his requirements, he just uses air and his sound effects to fill it in. About a week ago he picked Grandma and Grandpa up in his arms and carried them to his room, but they were just the empty air he was holding in his circled arms.
Taylor and I have looked at each other and chuckled at Jeriah because sometimes it seems as if the sound effects have a mind of their own. Sometimes they escape along with some random movement from Jeriah, and then he will go back to what he was doing.
I find it difficult to follow along with Jeriah, to keep my imagination going. My limited adult mind is just too slow and lazy to think about anything other than reality. How sad is that? So, I've determined to try and expand my imaginative mind and I'll use my three year old son as my teacher. He takes my hand and leads me down his road and encourages me when I just want to sit down and get back to the real world. But those times when I have come into his world have now become some of my most precious memories because I get to know him so well, how he thinks, what he knows, what he really enjoys and remembers from things we have done. And I also realize how individual he is. Jeriah truly is a special being, a joy, and so full of love that it boggles my heart.

This is wonderful!! I feel like I am there with you guys. Jeriah is lucky to have a mom willing to go into his life with him. love you.
That is so awesome. I know how amazing it is when our kids seem to come with their own dialog. It is so sweet when they let us into their world. My son Mikey has the same sort of thing. But his is mostly cars... He has his own dialog everything has a sound and movement. Its so cute to watch and participate in. Enjoy the moments for they are so fleeting, But I don't really need to tell you that. Your an Awesome Mom!
