Training is a common word in my life these days.
Personal Life - I'm currently training for a triathlon in May. I am on a relay team with my sis-in-law and my responsibility is biking a grueling, very hilly 12 miles, while she gets to swim for 9 minutes in a pool, then get a rest, then run for a piddly, flat 3 miles. ;) Just kidding. It's impossible for me to do the swimming and running (too much lung work) so I'm very grateful that she's willing to do this with me and let me do the biking part.
So, I've started working out and going to a spinning class. I can't wait until the weather is warm enough for me to take my brand new bike out for a spin. It's been very sad seeing it just sit in our garage over these past couple of months. I long to get on it and go.
Working Life - I write help topics and create training videos for a software company. Recently I was given an addition to my responsibilities. They are creating new training documentation and I'll be in charge of the documentation for the videos. I've got to figure out how to do this, first of all, so I've been doing quite a bit of research. I've got to train myself before I can help others train effectively.
Motherhood - I am constantly trying to train my children to behave with respect and kindness, and to have softer voices. Sometimes it works, but usually I'm repeating myself 20 times a day. And most of the time I am being trained by them on how to be more patient.
Wifehood - Well, I guess in this category, I'm the one being trained by my husband. I try to train him, but it usually ends up with me just being stubborn about holding my ground even if I know he's right.
So, there you have it. Training all day long. But I don't mind. I love to learn.
