I'm not ready for this

About a week ago, after Taylor puts Lukas to bed, I hear his door open. Confused, I walk over to see if Taylor went back in for something, but I find the little boy standing by his open door, just peeking out.

Shocked, I pick him up and put him back in his crib, only to find him doing the same thing within the next five minutes!

When Jeriah did this, it was obvious that he had climbed out of his crib because he'd make a ton of noise doing it and could never keep quiet even if we didn't hear him climb out. We also very quickly moved him into a big boy bed when we discovered he could escape.

For a few days, I thought Lukas wasn't getting out of his crib. I wouldn't hear anything, his door stayed closed, and I assumed all was good. Then he started sleeping in, and taking 3 hour naps. I got suspicious. Yesterday, I walked into his room because I heard he was awake. He was in the process of climbing back into his crib. So, he CAN get back in.

Now, I'm suspicious that he's getting out of bed, very quietly, and reading books or whatever, until he climbs back into bed to sleep. He's a very proficient climber so I'm not afraid of him hurting himself. And I'm not ready for him to be moved to a big boy bed, although that might be the best option now.

I don't want to encourage this behavior because I don't want a huge fight on my hands when he does get more freedom with a big bed. The rule has always been that you don't get out of bed until Mommy or Daddy comes and gets you.

What would you do?
