Apostrophe Catastrophe

This article I found on another blog and I thought I'd share. What do you think? Should apostrophes be banned? I just have to chuckle.

1. I found a blog that searches for something along the same lines: people who incorrectly use "quotations."

2. love the new look! (not that there was anything wrong with the old look...)
3. about the article... i don't understand how one could argue that apostrophes confuse people when the POINT of the the apostrophe is to specify as to not confuse. what is the point of dropping it? i don't really see the benefits. if someone doesn't know what an apostrophe means, it means they didn't pass 2nd grade, not that they don't have an A-list education. I don't know... maybe in England they wait until the senior year of High School to teach those tricky punctuation rules...
Seriously, let's not change the rules to suit an miseducated population, but holy freakin' A, educate the population to follow the rules.
It's too hard for people to buckle their seat belt so let's just alter the law of inertia...

hey, we can change the course of global warming apparently, so why not the law of inertia? it sure would make life easier for people who hate to wear their seatbelts.

Interesting article I must say. I'd probably be one fighting for the apostrophe. Oh how one can get caught up in unimportant thinks. Amazing. Love your site.

absolutely not. grr. i think it's stupid to even consider it! like your previous commenter said, apostrophes eliminate confusion! but people use them wrong so then all heck breaks loose.
