RECENT ACTIVITIES

we have had a lot of fun lately at a few places we've gone. on a warm day, we tried to go to the wilsonville water park, a park that has fountains and such for kids to play in for free. we didn't realize that they turned the water off after labor day so when we got there we were pretty disappointed. we had promised jeriah that he could go play in some water so then we decided to go play in the river. the rivers out here are the swimming pools. there aren't any public swimming pools unless they are indoors. so there were quite a few people at the river when we got there. jeriah had a blast throwing the rocks into the water and watching them splash. that's what he did the entire time we were there. a couple of times taylor tried to get him into the water, and he'd only go as far as his waist. he still thought it was a blast and wanted to go back to the river. it's the one place he's allowed to throw rocks.

we also participated in a free 5K walk/run. taylor found out about it online while we were trying to figure out what we were going to do with our saturday without spending any money, and he found this "Family Fest" in tigard. it's an annual event that happens over a couple of days and ends with fireworks. the entire thing is free and geared towards families getting out and doing things together. so we decided it'd be really fun to do the 5K together. we got t-shirts and breakfast out of it, as well as a very nice 3 mile walk through parks on a beautiful sunny day.

we were invited to go swim in the columbia river with taylor's best friend and his family and friends. i mainly sat on the sand and watched as taylor tried once again to get jeriah in the water, but he was content to stay on the sidelines and play in the sand. i also really enjoyed watching him because he looked so dang cute in his little froggy lifevest. :)
