GARBAGE OBSESSION

the one word that my son, jeriah, repeats over and over again, all day long, is "garbage!" every single one of his trucks are garbage trucks in his mind. he puts anything and everything on top of his trucks and then tips them over saying "garbage!" ("baabidge" in jeriah-talk) over and over again, all day long. i have no idea what started this obsession with him, but it has gone on long enough that i am convinced he will be a trashman when he grows up.

i went looking around online today for an actual garbage truck toy so he can use that instead of his fire, dump, tow, and big wheel trucks as garbage trucks. i found some, but geesh! they are upwards of $70! i can't find a cheapo garbage truck anywhere. the cheapest found was a $30 one from toys'r'us, so i guess he's doomed to be using inadequate trucks for his "garbage".

when taylor got home today, he brought with him a movie from the library about trucks. jeriah was very excited about it, but the movie didn't play right. so, then we resorted to YouTube for his truck entertainment. we searched for videos about garbage trucks and... poof! garbage galore! i was shocked. people actually stand outside their houses and videotape their garbage man dumping their trash into the back of these trucks. i had no idea people were so enthralled by this. maybe it's because i'm not a guy, but i just don't understand what the big deal is. it's garbage! are people so attached to garbage they also have to get video of it being taken to the dump? or is it simply that these trucks are massive and mean? all i know is we can't get too efficient with all this global warming reusing and recycling stuff because then what would jeriah do without all that trash around?

happy earth day! :)

what a funny video. Did Jeriah like it? You may be going crazy now, but when he grows out of it you will probably miss it!
