I'm more and more amazed at what little children say, especially my own. I love little kid logic, or reasoning. Jeriah talks constantly and we have had some very entertaining conversations. I can't remember most of them, but here are a few snippets of things that made me chuckle:
Jeriah had been complaining of something hurting. When I asked him if it hurt anymore, he said in all seriousness, "It'll feel better when I'm happy."
I can't forget something that my niece said when she was about 4 or so. She walked up to her mother and said, "Mom, how do you spell Mom?" Her mother said, "You tell me. How do you spell it?" My niece thought about it for a second and said, "C-O-W."
Jeriah had a favorite toy spider that streched when you pulled on it. One day we were running errands and he had that spider riding in his cup holder to keep it safe. When he picked it up to play with it he streched it a little too far and one of the feet broke off. He whimpered and said, "I don't like this spider. It's sad and crying because it's broken." Then he threw it to the back of the car without a second thought.
There was a period of time where Jeriah insisted that everything made him happy. During this time I had to threaten him with the loss of a privelige, namely getting a toy taken away, and if he talked back to me about it then he'd spend some time in his room. He said, "Mommy, I'm happy to put the toy away and go to my room. I'm very happy to go to my room. I always go to my room. I like my room." Then he continued to do what he wasn't supposed to be doing as if that argument solved the problem.
Today when he got up from his nap, he looked at me with a huge excited grin and said, "Mommy, I have hiccups in my mouth!"
