The Ship Sets Sail

I have finally decided to take myself seriously. Writing, both technical and creative, is something I know I can do and possibly get really good at. Being still really new in the professional world, I don't know much but I can feel that I've got the capacity to learn it and be a force to be reckoned with. Is that bragging? Well, I don't mean it that way if it is bragging. I had an epiphany about a week ago that this will be my profession and then the whole road opened up to me. I wasn't intimidated by all the things I will have to overcome and learn, but instead was very excited and ready to get going.

I have been accepted to an online writing forum, Liberty Hall, where you can post your work for others to hash it out and tell you what's wrong with it, or what's right. There are challenges with strict rules to follow to help get the mind juices flowing. There are people who have written and published a lot of things and write for their livelihood, as well as beginners like me, so I'll get a lot of good feedback. There's lots of good advice for how to get your stories published, and how not to.

I really love to write. Any of you who know me pretty well already know that. So maybe one of these days far into the future, you will see my name at the end of a story somewhere and think to yourself, "Hey, I know her!"
