The weather outside is frightful...

We had a snow "storm" blow through here last weekend and it was kinda fun. We watched the snow blowing around and around, watched as it piled up on our cars and lawns, got out our hot chocolate and sat around under warm cozy blankets and pitied all those who don't get to experience the wonders of blizzards.

Not really.

It wasn't a blizzard.

Jeriah got to really and truly play in the snow for the first time ever. He looked like Randy from A Christmas Story...

I don't know... you compare and see what you think. At least Jeriah was able to move his arms.

We also went for a drive around town and watched as the snow blew across the roads and fields nearby. To me it looked like dry ice, or a fog machine. Taylor has a video of it on his blog here. Ignore the corny woman that somehow made it into this video.

The weather is going to be in the minus degree mark for the next week or so. I think people are insane for choosing to live in places where the temperature goes below 0 degrees (I guess that means our sanity is to be questioned). One thing I am grateful for is the snow is very dry. It's very light, like feathers, or big pieces of dust, and when you walk in it, the snow billows out from your feet until you pack what's under your feet. So driving isn't too bad. Not like Oregon. Taylor has more videos of what driving is like in Oregon when it snows, which is why everything closes after an inch or so of snow.

Now we have about a foot of snow, we are going to get more, and nothing is closed. It's a strange world.
