Grateful for Grandparents

Taylor's dad came to visit with us for a little while recently and we had lots of fun with him. He did a lot of babysitting, dishes, holding baby Jesse, reading books, and entertaining the kids. We felt very lucky to have him here and I very much enjoyed watching the relationship between Grandpa and my kids grow. We have a ton of snow here (go figure) and Grandpa had great ideas to build things with it.

Here are a few pictures of the things Jeriah and Grandpa did together...

Another thing that Grandpa decided was he wanted to outshine the other Grandpa (my dad) by building a water rocket. Grandpa Jankus built kites (that didn't ever really fly) and we went on trips and he drew pictures for my kids. Grandpa Gibb wanted to be the favorite grandpa, so he spent his weeks here building this rocket that he swore would fly and it would be the highlight of his trip here.

This was the first attempt.

Didn't look so hopeful, but then...

So, all in all, things went well, my kids very much enjoyed having another adult here to play with them, and I got a very appreciated break from having to haul all my kids around for small trips down the street, from doing the dishes every day, from having to eat all the leftovers myself, and a lot more.

Thank you Grandpa!!!

PS - When are you coming back?
